V1 Sports is searching for a Director of Software Engineering who is passionate about sports and video technologies to join our management team and help lead V1 into new growth areas. The Director of Software Engineering will be a top executive at the Company and be a member of the company’s EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) leadership team.
As the Director of the Software Engineering department, you will apply your extensive knowledge of software architecture to lead the teams responsible for developing, debugging and designing software applications across the desktop (Windows), mobile (iOS and Android), and web platforms.

Leadership, Management & Accountability
— Lead, direct, and manage the desktop, mobile and web development teams to execute on product strategy throughout the complete software development lifecycle
— Manage, mentor and coach teams of developers
— Develop data-driven metrics and processes to ensure KPIs are satisfied
— Evaluate the existing architecture, technical landscape and build a platform with a world-class architecture that emphasizes security, resilience and extensibility
— Implement best-practice legacy application replatforming
— Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives.
— Maintain and solidify an engineering culture that fosters creativity, collaboration, and a continuous growth mindset
— Champion agile principles promoting ownership mentality and alignment to company goals
— Promote an environment that stimulates innovation and creativity, enabling quality and craftsmanship
— Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science and Engineering, or a closely related field of study
— Proficiency with Agile Scrum methodology, SDLC and project management
— Capable of guiding and inspiring your teams to drive the best possible practices
— Extensive experience in cloud application development and replatforming
— 5+ years of team management experience are required
— 10+ years of work experience in a software development delivery discipline are required
— Demonstrated leadership and people management skills.
— Strong communication skills, analytical skills, and thorough understanding of product development through SDLC
— Experience with Atlassian Jira (and other enterprise-level project management tools)
