2022 was a great year for golf content. While the shutdowns of 2020/2021 turned a lot of teachers and instructors into content creators out of necessity, 2022 was the year that many of them found their groove. 2022 was also the first year we introduced our V1 Sports Content Team to bring fresh, original content to the V1 GOLF app.Â
Â
Here are some fun facts about the content you watched this year in the V1 GOLF app:Â
Â
The winner is: Tony Finau. His year started with being on the cover of Golf Magazine’s Masters edition and skyrocketed with winning the 3M Open and Rocket Mortgage Classic back to back. He was also the #1 viewed model swing in the V1 GOLF app this year.Â
Sister Showdown: Nelly and Jessica Korda both had great seasons, with Nelly breaking the record of consecutive weeks at World #1 with 29, and Jessica still holding out with the higher career money total over Nelly (I’d love to know how much this comes up at family dinners!). While both were consistently in our top 25, Jessica takes home the trophy with 2,435 more views than Nelly.Â
Swing Study Special: 2022 was the launch year of our Swing Study series, and wow, you were hungry for this content. The Cameron Smith Swing Study by Devan Bonebrake broke records with almost 2,000 more views than the next position. In all, Swing Studies were viewed over 70,000 times this year. Our top 5 were:
1. Cameron Smith by Devan Bonebrake
2. Max Homa by Matt Goudie
3. Padraig Harrington by Dave Phillips
4. Steven Alker by Steve Buzza
5. Brooke Henderston by Tina Tombs
Drill Spill: Generally the newest content featured in our Drill Drops gathered the most views each week. You loved Nancy Quarcelino’s “Alignment Stick for Power” drill released in November, and “Better Ball Striking” by Tom Saguto was consistently at the top of the list.
Â
For the month of January, all beginner drills in V1 GOLF are free so don’t miss this chance to get back to basics with custom drills from our V1 Pro Content Team!Â
